Open House Season in San Diego is Now - 10/09/08
Hello Agents and House Shoppers!
Despite the new temperament with the housing market and economy in general, it's a great time to be a home buyer in San Diego. FHA deals are still the best game in town. If your FICO score is over or very close to 700 and you can put 3% down, you are almost there. Closing costs on an FHA deal tend to be higher because of mortgage insurance, so you may want to ask for up to 3% closing cost help from your sellers...or from the bank if it's a short sale or completely bank owned (REO).
It's fall on the calendar just not in the air. This hot weather in San Diego has been a bit much and more is to follow. But fear not, it is the beginning of the height of home buying season. By the way, FHA rules change in January and buyers will have to put 3.5% down, so grab the deal now!
We hope you'll ask your agent to use Open House Genie if your house is listed for sale. We advertise on the radio like no other website for real estate or open houses in San Diego. And we get a lot of hits from home buyers who want, guess what, to visit your open house before choosing to purchase a property.
So wash the car, get a notepad and digital camera and start your search. The time to buy is when the market is down. That is now. It's hard to be the brave soul making a purchase decision. But when this is over and prices go back up, we think you'll be happy. San Diego open houses are waiting for you.
Enjoy your San Diego open house adventures!
